What does it mean to turn your love of Yoga into a career?

Time for you.

Time for you.

What better way to answer that important question than to share some of the experiences of our 200-Hour Online Hatha Yoga Teacher Trainees.

Our May 2020 cohort have just graduated and there has been plenty of opportunity to reflect on the journey they have been on. Training online during lockdown may have seemed like an alien experience to begin with, but finding connection with a new tribe during the most unsettling of times appears to have created bonds that will never break.

Wow, what a journey it has been, 8 intensive weeks. There’ve been tears and laughter, there’s been moments of self-doubt and moments of self-confidence, and new friends made. So glad I made the decision to train to become a registered yoga teacher.”

At the Academy for Yoga Teacher Training, we passionately believe that being a Yoga Teacher carries with it a responsibility; this is why our ethos is built upon the following three principles

Integrity. Strength. Focus.

Our team of experienced Yoga Teachers strive for the highest standards from their students, which is why we are proud to be accredited by the Yoga Alliance.

However, it isn’t all about badges and logos, we want our trainees to go on an enriching journey of self-reflection so that they graduate with confidence, grace and humility. Only then, are they truly able to teach Yoga with integrity, strength and focus.

So, you can imagine our delight, when recently asked what it was like training with us, our recent graduate reflected and said,

“It’s not just about striking a pose; it’s about learning who you are.”

Moving to an online facilitated course, was daunting, but given the unchartered territory in which we find ourselves, and the potential for another period of lockdown, two online courses under our belts, we now know that teaching online has not affected our ability to support and challenge our students in equal measure.

“What a journey it’s been. It’s an amazing course, completely online, which means its accessible for everyone. There’s lots of written information, great videos and tutorials as well as regular online meetings and workshops, towards the end there’s also one to ones. I would recommend this course to anyone… Diane and the team are just so supportive, as are all the women who do the course with you, they’ve all got your back. I couldn’t recommend it enough.”

We are also optimistic that by continuing to offer online training, we are enabling people to connect with other Yogis from across the globe. The benefits of trans-global connection are endless – by supporting their fellow trainees and learning from one another, our students are equipping themselves with the tools required to teach Yogis from all walks of life and all countries of the world. All through the medium of a global language – YOGA.
